ABOUT THE WRITE REALTOR

David Paul Williams blends his real estate expertise and love of writing as The Write Realtor. Yep, he’s a writing, lawyering Realtor. A Double Dawg, Williams earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Washington. His Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting allows him fluency in "business speak." His law degree allows him to practice (because practice makes perfect) in all Washington State Courts and the Western District of Washington Federal Court.

As a business lawyer in a personal injury law firm, Williams carved out his own fish-out-of-water niche which he continues under his own shingle, representing buyers, sellers, mortgage brokers, remodeling contractors, home builders, real estate agents and brokers in transactions and litigation. Oh yeah, he also teaches workshops for real estate brokers and mortgage brokers, teaches them how to stay out of trouble.

Elaine Travenick, Williams’ English Composition professor first encouraged him to be a writer. Decades later a Bellevue College writing instructor prodded him to send off a query letter he’d written as a class assignment, thereby launching his writing career. Guess there’s truth to the adage all things in good time.

In addition to being The Write Realtor, David Paul Williams is a writing instructor, media presenter, flyfisherman and soccer referee. He has published hundreds of feature articles in national and regional magazines. He wrote on real estate law and flyfishing for the seattlepi.com, formerly Washington's oldest newspaper. He started fishing before he started kindergarten and spends time tossing flies anywhere there are fish. Williams has caught mackinaw in a September Wyoming mountain snowstorm, tricked Firehole River brown trout, hooked all five Pacific salmon species on a fly, done battle with "Mississippi steelhead," (that’s carp to those in the know) and worn out his wrist on Yakima River smallmouth. His book Fly Fishing for Western Smallmouth (Stackpole Books) hit the market July, 2014.

He is Editor-In-Chief of Flyfisher, Department Editor Flyfishing & Tying Journal, In The Field Editor Washington-Oregon Game & Fish, Board Member Fly Fishers International, Secretary of the Washington State Council Fly Fishers International, a member of the Northwest Fly Anglers, and past member WDFW Inland Fish Policy Advisory Group and Manufacturers and Retailers Advisory Group. He’s a past Washington Wildlife and Recreation Coalition board member and a Washington Teeming With Wildlife Steering Committee member. A former board member and Past President of Standing Ovation, an organization that raised money to support the local arts, he also served two terms as president of the Uplake Community Club.

On the personal side, Williams can be found hanging out with his two fabulous daughters and adored wife.
